Viewing Locations

The venue is the riverside area near Sekiyado on the Tone River. There is a fee to watch from within the official venue. However, I recommend purchasing a paid seat because the music is clear, and you can comfortably enjoy the fireworks.

In other areas, you can watch the fireworks relatively inexpensively from the Goka Town venue (I watched from there last year). Although the view is slightly angled and less ideal, there were some free areas available.

Additionally, on the Sekiyado side, there are rice fields, so if you watch from a bit further away, you can enjoy the fireworks for free. Considering that the fireworks are launched near Sekiyado Castle, you should still get a beautiful view. However, please follow the instructions of the security personnel and staff and be careful not to enter private property.

Access

The nearest station to the venue is Minami-Kurihashi Station. However, since the distance from the station to the venue is about 8 to 10 kilometers, it is nearly impossible to walk there, so I recommend driving.

There are also buses operating from the nearest station and Tokyo Station. These buses require advance reservations, so please check the official website for the latest information.

The Tone River Grand Fireworks Festival is also renowned for its high quality, with Japan’s four major fireworks companies showcasing their best work.

The four major fireworks companies are Nomura Fireworks Co., Yamazaki Fireworks Manufacturing, Marugo, and Beniya Aoki Fireworks Store.

Each company specializes in different types of fireworks. For example, Nomura Fireworks is highly regarded for their blue fireworks, often referred to as "Nomura Blue." Marugo is famous for their time-lapse fireworks, which change color and give the illusion of movement, making them extremely popular.
